| Finally, international research can give
answers to one of the most important questions of our modern communication
society: why and how exactly does mobile radio and electronic radiation interfere
with our organism? Why are there also biological consequences, especially where
we are exposed to very low radiation energy? What model is there behind it?
What processes specifically occur in our body and what physical principles are
they based on? In electro smog research, in particular,
internationally groundbreaking findings have been made over the last few years.
However, even for experts, it is becoming ever more difficult to bring the new
research results into experience that is relevant to the field of
electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) as well (e.g. the achievements of the Nobel
laureates for chemistry of 2003).
Out of the context of current findings
arose the long-sought model for biological effects that are not related to
heating of the tissue, rather to disorder due to outside signals - the basis
for biophysical electromagnetic compatibility (EMC-B).
The speech gives a substantiated abstract
of the latest international knowledge, in an easily understood manner. It deals
with the topics:
oEveryday mobile radio and
electronic radiation
oThe effect of technical
electronic radiation on people
oTNO study and REFLEX study
oThe electromagnetic pulse
oNew, reliable methods for
measuring non-thermal effects
oCurrent protection concepts
In the scope of his field chemistry and
environmental protection, the lecturer Dr. Walter Medinger is also the only
sworn and legally certified expert in Austria
on the field of biological effects of electromagnetic fields and media. He
headed the Bureau for Nature and Environmental Protection of state capital Linz for 12 years
and was granted sabbatical for research purposes in August 2004 owing to his
scientific results. Dr. Medinger is the scientific director of the
International Institute for Research on Electromagnetic Compatibility (IIREC),
member of the international workgroup Biophysik (Biophysics) and keeps
in contact with leading scientists from around the world.
The lecture costs 7.- euros per person and
takes place in the:
